General Construction Induction Training - Queensland
CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
If you are located in Queensland, complete your White Card QLD course with Nexa Training for a nationally recognised construction industry White Card.
Book into our virtual classroom from wherever you are in Queensland or attend a face-to-face class at our Brisbane Training Centre.
- Virtual Classroom: Available 7 days a week using Zoom. Real-time connected lessons where instructors and participants engage with each other and the learning material.
- Face-to-Face Classes: Delivered at our Brisbane Training Centre every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Note: Virtual class participants MUST have access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). We provide PPE and computer for face-to-face class participants.
If you work on a construction site in Australia, you need to complete (CPCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry).
Upon successful completion, you will be issued with a white card which you will present at site inductions. It's proof that you've learned how to work safely on a construction job site.

1Select a convenient date and time for your training session. Register for either our online virtual classroom or attend in person at our Brisbane education facility.

2Participate in the training program, either remotely or on-site. Engage with our expert instructors and successfully complete all required evaluations.

3After you have competently completed the course, receive your unique White Card identification number immediately. Your physical White Card will be delivered to you via mail or if done face-to-face you will receive it before you leave.
- Be located in Queensland
- 100 points of identification (1 must be photographic)
- An English language, Literacy and Numeracy skill level of 3 use our free LLN Tool to evaluate your abilities
- A Unique Student Identifier (USI), find or get your USI here
From 1 August 2023, RTOs must use the mandated assessment provided by the State Regulator to determine the student's competency. The assessment is broken down into:
- Written Component: Includes 50 multiple-choice questions, short answer queries, and a hazard report form.
- Oral Component: Consists of 11 questions.
- Practical Component: Involves demonstrating the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The assessment is open-book, allowing you to refer to training materials and your copy of the Queensland Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. At the successful completion of this unit you will be able to:
- Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work
- Identify construction hazards and risk control measures
- Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
- Identify incident and emergency response procedures
- Access to the internet to join the virtual real-time classroom on Zoom
- A computer, tablet or smartphone with a webcam
- Personal headphones (recommended)
- Access to PPE (either owned or borrowed for the course): Hard hat, Safety glasses, High visibility clothing, Ear plugs/muffs
